Antifaschistische Aktion (Anti-Fascist Action), otherwise known as ANTIFA, is perhaps the greatest oxymoron that has appeared this decade.
Determined to fight the evil islamophobic, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, racist, sexist, bigoted, misogynistic Nazis that have gained popularity in recent times, the neo-Marxist revolutionaries that belong to this organisation passionately fight a cause they see as ‘hateful’. Brexit, Trump, the rise of Le Pen, and a growing nationalist surge around Europe, is not a sign of democracy finally catching up with the neo-liberal political elites, but rather a reincarnation of the European fascist movements of the early 20th Century.
ANTIFA strangely achieves it’s ‘anti-nazism’ pledge by in effect being the direct successor of the Schutzstaffel, otherwise known as the SS… how bizarre? How could an organisation that is against fascism be fascist?
Violence, destruction, theft, burning newspapers that they disagree with, causing public nuisance and shutting down speech sound oddly like the actions of the fascists (and communists) of the 21st century. Antifa claims to be Marxist, and apparently that means they are opposed to fascism. But in essence, how different was Stalinist Russia to Nazi Germany? Juche North Korea to Fascist Italy? Communists and fascists are obsessed by many characteristics that make them alike, despite being ‘far left’ and ‘far right’, and that is their use of control, and the subsequent tyranny it produces.
If you believe that violence is legitimised to shut down the free speech of those you disagree with- you’re probably a fascist.
If you believe that violence is legitimised to shut down the free speech of those you disagree with- Antifa is just for you!
See the similarity?
Hypocrisy at heart; Antifa is the epicentre of the modern left’s totalitarian mindset. By branding certain opinions as ‘hate speech’, members of left are unwittingly re-enacting the same tactics as the fascists of the 20th century. Let’s all encourage debate, let’s all put our opinions forward, and let the best idea win. That is the essential fruit of a free society.
